 Waraburra State School

Waraburra State School is located in Gracemere, some 7 km west of Rockhampton and 660 km north of Brisbane.

Waraburra, constructed in 1986, and opened in 1987, is the largest of the three primary schools in the township, catering for students from Preschool to Year 6.

Our school has an area of 8.5 hectares and is situated between Johnson Road and Middle Road.

Waraburra is named after a clan of the Darumbal people, who lived south of the Fitzroy River around the present location of Gracemere and Kabra.

Our school emblem is so designed to represent the partnership involved in 'Learning for Life'.
